      Using Matecat's AI Assistant

      Matecat'AI Assistant is a powerful tool designed to help translators when encountering unfamiliar words or phrases by:

      • Providing an explanation of the context-specific meaning of the word/phrase (powered by GPT-4, OpenAI's most advanced system)
      • Looking for matches for the word/phrase inside the TMs linked to the job for further context

      When a user highlights up to 3 words, 6 Chinese characters or 10 Japanese characters in the source, a lightbulb button to activate the AI Assistant appears under the source segment.

       

      If they wish, users can choose to have the AI Assistant activate automatically on highlight by opening the settings panel, navigating to the "Advanced Options" tab and clicking the relevant toggle.

       

      In this case, when a user highlights up to 3 words, 6 Chinese characters or 10 Japanese characters in the source text the AI-assistant will activate automatically.
