Glossaries can be associated with translation projects through the private TM key in order to provide suggestions while translating. These suggestions are displayed under the Glossary tab. The number between brackets indicates how many terms in the segment were found in the glossary. At every occurrence of a certain term, it is underlined in the segment and displayed in the glossary, as in the example below:
When looking for a specific term, type it in the left input area under the Glossary tab and press Enter. If the term exists in the glossary, it will show up.
The source of the term suggested and its creation date are included in every case. Double-click on the suggested term in the glossary to copy it directly to the target segment right after your cursor or copy-paste it.
Whenever a term is found in the glossary tab in Matecat, you can edit it or add a comment to it: just click on the edit icon on the right of the target term and edit the translated term or add a comment to clarify its meaning.
Notice that in order to modify your Glossary, both Lookup and Update options should be active on your setting panel.
You can also create new terms and add them to the glossary: write the term and its translation in the empty corresponding fields, write a note, if necessary, by clicking on the (+) Comment button and click on the + button as in the screenshot below.
Note: if the translation project has no glossary associated with it and you create one while translating, a new private TM key will be generated automatically and associated with the project.
In order to remove a term from the glossary, hover over it and click on the trash can icon that appears on the right.
